National team committee’s meeting to be held tomorrow

DHAKA, June 16, 2020 (BSS) -National team’s committee’s meeting (online video meeting) of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will be held tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss the upcoming various issues including to start the training camp of national football team’ ahead of their joint qualifiers of 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup tourney.

The meeting will start at 12 noon with Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) vice president and national team’s committee’s chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed is expected to preside over the meeting, said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag to BSS today.

In the meeting, the national team’s committee will likely take decision regarding to start of the training camp of the national football team.

With the joint qualifiers of the 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup likely to resume in early October, all the participating countries including are planning to start training camp. But a smooth preparation largely depends on the improvement of coronavirus situation.

Bangladesh will likely resume their FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers and Asia Cup China 2023 Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2 match when they will face Afghanistan on October 8 after AFC announced the proposed dates as per the direction on FIFA on June 6.

All the fixtures of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and Asian Qualifiers scheduled for March and June were postponed according to the directives of FIFA and AFC. A preliminary decision has been made to hold all the matches of the March and June window in the upcoming October and November window.

All the fixtures of Bangladesh have been proposed to be held on October 8 and 13 and on November 12 and 17 against Afghanistan, Qatar, India and Oman respectively.
