‘Nasim, Abdullah to remain as glittering national stars’

RANGPUR, June 15, 2020 (BSS) – Freedom fighters at a brief discussion here today said Mohammed Nasim and Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah will remain as glittering national stars for their outstanding contributions to politics, struggles for independence and the great War of Liberation.

Freedom fighters expressed the view at the discussion followed by milad and doa mahfil held here today seeking divine blessings for the departed souls of Awami League presidium member and 14-party alliance spokesperson and former health minister Mohammed Nasim and veteran politician and state minister for religious affairs Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah.

The district unit command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad (BMS) organised the events at the District Muktijoddha Complex Bhaban in the city after ‘Khatme Holy Quran’.

They also sought divine blessings for the departed soul of former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and member of the central executive committee of Awami League Badaruddin Ahmad Kamran.

Besides, they sought divine blessings for early recovery of COVID-19 infected Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque and former Vice-chairman of the Central Command Council for BMS Ismat Kadir Gama undergoing treatments now at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka city.

Moderated by immediate past Rangpur district unit commander of BMS Mosaddek Hossain Bablu, freedom fighters Sadrul Alam Dulu, Md. Matiar Rahman, Alhaj Md. Atiar Rahman, Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Jasim Uddin Ahmmed, Md. Azadul Islam, among others, addressed the occasion.

Describing the deaths of Nasim and Abdullah as irreparable losses for the nation, the speakers expressed profound shock and remembered their maximum contribution to national politics and independence.

They said veteran politicians Nasim and Abdullah always stood beside Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and came forward in every crucial moment of the Awami League and the country leaving an example for the future generations through outstanding contribution.

Mosaddek Hossain Bablu said both Mohammed Nasim and Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Md.  Abdullah played most important roles in national politics and in every movement as trusted and tested leaders of Awami League.

“Both of them were soldiers of democratic movement having rock-solid belief in the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and contributed to establish a non-communal, democratic and Bangabandhu’s Sonar Bangla,” he said.
