3 held with 1.5lakh yaba pills in Cox’s Bazar
COX’SBAZAR, June 15, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) arrested three persons and recovered around 1.5 lakh contraband yaba pills from Rajapalong UP of Ukhia Upazila of the district this morning.
The arrestees are- Md Jobaer, 21, Md Bappi, 20 of Korbunia village and Sheikh Anowar, 20, of Purbo Dekhulia village of the district.
On secret information, a team of BGB Cox’s Bazar Battalion (BGB-34) of Rezu Amtali BOP
conducted a drive near Tulatoli Joliler Goda area of the district around 5am. They challenged the passengers of a Kutupalang bound easy-bike coming from Myanmar and arrested the peddlers with 150,000 pieces of Burmese Yaba tablets, said a BGB press release here.
The net worth of the tablets is about Taka 45 crore, added the release.
The detainees were sent to Ukhia Police Station.
