Jabbar mourns Kamran’s death

DHAKA, June 15, 2020 (BSS) – Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation Badaruddin Ahmad Kamran.

In a condolence message, he said Kamran who was a development planner, pro-people and humanitarian by virtue has secured a special place in the political arena, especially in the heart of people of Sylhet, through his work.

Jabbar said the nation will always remember his contributions with deep respect.

Recalling his personal relationship with Kamran, the minister said his contribution in the development of information and communication technology infrastructures in Sylhet will be remembered forever.

He said the irreparable loss incurred at the demise of Kamran for Awami League (AL) as well as country will never be replenished.

The posts and telecommunications minister also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Kamran died of coronavirus infection at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here in the early hours of today. He was 69.

The member of AL central executive committee was admitted to CMH on June 7 after his physical condition deteriorated due to being infected with COVID-19.

He felt acute chest pain at about 2.45am and then the doctor declared him dead within few minutes.
