Nasrul mourns death of Sheikh Md Abdullah

DHAKA, June 14, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of State Minister for Religious Affairs Advocate Sheikh Md Abdullah.

In a condolence message, he said Sheikh Md Abdullah was a Hafez-e-Quran and a freedom fighter, who had always worked for building Bangabandhu’s non-communal Bangladesh.

Nasrul said Sheikh Md Abdullah ascended to the higher level of national politics from the grassroots level. He was general secretary of Gopalganj district Awami League (AL) and served as the religious affairs secretary of the central committee of AL.

He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Sheikh Abdullah breathed his last at the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka last night. He was suffering from different old-age complications including diabetics.

Sheikh Abdullah left behind one son, nine daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
