Raushon Ershad mourns death of Abdullah

DHAKA, June 14, 2020 (BSS) – Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament Raushon Ershad today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of valiant freedom fighter and State Minister for Religious Affairs Sheikh Md Abdullah.

In a condolence message, she said his death is an irreparable loss to the country as well as the nation and the loss would not be fulfilled easily.

Raushon Ershad said, “The nation will remember him [Abdullah] for his great contribution to the country and the nation as he was an honest and ideal politician.”

Sheikh Md Abdullah was closely involved in Liberation War movement of the country as he actively participated in all movements in the country including the six-point movement in 1966, mass upsurge in 1969 and the liberation war in 1971, said the opposition leader.

Raushon Ershad prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Sheikh Md Abdullah passed away at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) at about 11.45pm on Saturday.
