Jabbar mourns Nasim’s death

DHAKA, June 13, 2020 (BSS) – Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar today expressed deep shock at the death of Awami League presidium member, 14-party alliance’s spokesperson and Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammed Nasim.

In a condolence message, he said Nasim, who was a star in Bangladesh’s political sky, has dedicated his entire life to serve the people and the country.

Recalling his contributions through five decades of political career, Jabbar said the nation will always remember his contributions with deep respect.

The irreparable loss incurred by Awami League as well as the country at the demise of Mohammed Nasim will never be replenished.

The posts and telecommunications minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mohammed Nasim breathed his last at the age of 72 while undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in city’s Shyamoli area.

He is survived by wife, three sons, a host of relatives and admirers.

On June 1, Nasim was admitted to the hospital. Later at night, he was found coronavirus positive after testing his sample.

He also suffered a stroke in the early hours of June 5 while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

But, a few days later, Nasim was found coronavirus negative after testing samples for two times.
