Khulna people hails challenging budget for FY21

KHULNA, June 12, 2020 (BSS) – Leaders of different trade bodies, Khulna City Corporation (KCC), Khulna Development Authority (KDA), Entrepreneurs, Economists, Educationalists, Elites and leaders of different political parties including Awami League (AL) hailed the announced proposed national budget for the FY 2020-21.

The budget for 2020-21 fiscal year has been a pro-people one, according to the Khulna Awami League (AL) leaders.

The leaders also thanked and expressed their gratitude towards the party chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for delivering such a challenging budget amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

While expressing instant reaction to the proposed budget, the KCC Mayor and President of city unit Awami League Talukder Abdul Khaleque said this was a very productive, pro-people and benevolent budget.

He welcomed the Premier, saying that after completion of the budget it would play a significant role to boost the economy of the country, alleviate its poverty and improve the living standards of the people here.

“Government aims to keep the estimated GDP growth of our country constant amid this coronavirus pandemic,” he added.

President of Khulna district AL and Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid commented that the budget was a pro-people and visionary one.

“As a whole the budget focuses on crisis management for the coronavirus situation and our next generation will be benefited by it,” he said.

Leaders of Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries, however, underlined importance of proper and quality implementation of the proposed budget for graduating the country into a middle income developing one.

Vice-Chancellors of Khulna University (KU) and Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Chairman of KDA and leaders of Khulna Unnyan Sangram Samonnya Committee and different socio-cultural organizations also hailed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for announced this mega budget.

They hoped that the proposed budget has given emphasis towards the vital sectors of the country like ICT, education, women empowerment, agriculture, health, fuel and power, industry, investment and social safety net.
