151 stranded Bangladeshis returns from Malaysia

DHAKA, June 12, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 151 Bangladeshis who were
stranded in Malaysia due to COVID-19 pandemic returned home today by a
special chartered flight of US-Bangla Airlines amid ongoing
international flight suspension.

A special flight of US-Bangla Airlines has brought back 151
Bangladeshi nationals including students and tourists stranded in
Malaysia due to the outbreak of coronavirus, a US-Bangla press release
said.

The special flight landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport
(HSIA) at 5:40 pm from Kuala Lumpur carrying 151 Bangladeshi nationals
while earlier, the chartered aircraft took back 43 Malaysian nationals
and permanently expatriate Bangladeshis from Dhaka to Kuala Lumpur at
8.50 am this morning, it added.

The US-Bangla Airlines operated the special flight on the
Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur-Dhaka route in collaboration with the Bangladesh
Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the Malaysian Embassy in
Bangladesh, it added.

The government so far repatriated stranded Bangladeshis from
different other countries including India, the USA, the UK, Australia,
Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea.

The other countries, including the USA, India, Japan, Canada,
Australia, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Bhutan,
Myanmar and different European countries also operated several special
chartered flights amid the flight suspension to repatriate their
citizens from here.
