Highlights of budget for FY21
DHAKA, June 11, 2020 (BSS) – Following are the highlights of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2020-21.
• Taka 5,68,000 crore budget (17.9 percent of GDP) with 8.2 percent growth target
• Taka 2,05,145 crore as the Annual Development Programme (ADP)
• Taka 3,62,855 crore for operating and other expenditures
• Inflation 5.4 percent
• Taka 1,55,536 crore for the social infrastructure sector
• Taka 1,67,011 crore for the physical infrastructure sector
• Taka 10,000 crore to fulfill emergency requirements to combat COVID-19
• Taka 95,574 crore for the social safety net programmes
• 1 percent incentive for RMG to remain continue
• 2 percent incentive for inward remittance to remain continue
• Reduce the minimum tax rate for individuals from 10 percent to 5 percent and
maximum from 30 to 25 percent.
• RMG factories having green building certification to enjoy special tax rate of 10
percent, whereas RMG factories without such certification pay taxes at a rate of
12 percent.
