Govt relief assistance continues amid COVID-19 situation
DHAKA, June 11, 2020 (BSS) – Government has continued to distribute relief as humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the common people across the country due to the Corona disaster.
Till 10th of June this year, relief has been provided to about 1.5 crore families across the country, said a government statement today.
According to information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, till June 10, two lakh 1,417 metric tonnes of rice have been allocated across the country and about 1 lakh 70 thousand metric tonnes have been distributed.
More than 116 crore taka has been allocated in cash. Of this, 91,31,7200 taka has been allocated as general relief and 79.98 crore taka has been distributed. 25.54 crore has been allocated as baby food aid and 21, 36, 54000 taka has been distributed so far.
The number of beneficiary families is 6 lakh 83 thousand 337 and the beneficiary population is 41 lakh 27 thousand 78 people.
