44 more positive tests for coronavirus in Rangpur division

RANGPUR, June 10, 2020 (BSS) – Forty-four more people were tested
positive for coronavirus today at the two COVID-19 Laboratories in
Rangpur and Dinajpur of Rangpur division.

Health officials said the new 44 infected cases were reported after
diagnosing 376 samples at the two laboratories.

Of them, 23 new patients were reported after diagnosing 188 samples
at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in
Rangpur city.

“The new 23 patients include 15 of Rangpur, five of Gaibandha, two
of Kurigram and one of Lalmonirhat districts,” Chief of Divisional
Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of RpMC
Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnabi Lyzu told BSS.

On the other hand, 21 new patients were reported after diagnosing
188 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical
College (MARMC) in Dinajpur.

“The 21 new COVID-19 patients include 15 of Dinajpur, four of
Nilphamari and one each of Thakurgaon and Panchagarh districts,”
Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Shibesh Sarker told BSS tonight.

Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health) for
Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the total number of COVID-19
patients rose to 1,563 as 44 new cases were reported from across the
division.

“The district-wise break up of the patients stands at 530 in
Rangpur, 93 in Panchagarh, 204 in Nilphamari, 56 in Lalmonirhat, 84 in
Kurigram, 151 in Thakurgaon, 353 in Dinajpur and 92 Gaibandha
districts,” Dr. Siddiqui said.
