RANGPUR, June 10, 2020 (BSS) – Members of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) today seized 21 kilograms of smuggled ganja and arrested two presumed drug traders from Nayarhat Purbo Saptana area in Lalmonirhat district town.
The arrested are Nur Alam, 35, son of Shamsul Haque and Shafikul Islam, 32, son of Azizar Rahman of Khonchabari area under Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station.
“On a tip-off, a special team of the Lalmonirhat district DNC searched an auto-rickshaw in the area and arrested the duo red-handed with the ganja this noon,” Deputy Director of DNC for Lalmonirhat Md. Abu Jafar told reporters.
The DNC officials handed over them to the Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station after filing a case in this connection.
