Covid-19 death toll reaches 100 positive patients in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 10, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram has reached 100 within 61 days after first patient died of corona in Satkania upazila on April 9.

The number of deaths in Corona virus has reached three digits with the death of today’s one.

“The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 4280 only in Chattogram district as 111 more new patients were diagnosed at the three Laboratories after testing 485 samples in the last 24 hours,” Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Chattogram district health officials said among the newly detected 111 corona patients 58 are in Chattogram city and 53 in different upazilas of the district.

A total of 278 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection, the sources added.

Dr Rabbi told that 14 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 179 samples in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 31 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 87 samples during the same period.

Besides, 56 also new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 149 samples, the civil surgeon said.

On the other hand, 12 residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 70 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
