99 more test COVID-19 positive in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, June 9, 2020 (BSS) – Ninety-nine more people were tested positive for coronavirus at three COVID-19 laboratories in the district after testing 598 samples in last 24 hours.
Of the newly detected COVID-19 patients, 65 are the residents of the port city and the rest 34 are residents of different upazilas of the district.
Civil surgeon of Chattogram Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that 36 new COVID-19 patients were identified after testing 232 samples at BITID, Chattogram in last 24 hours.
Besides, 33 new Covid-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 196 samples, the civil surgeon said, adding that 17 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 125 samples in last 24 hours.
On the other hand, no resident of Lohagara upazila was identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 25 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in the last 24 hours.
So far, 99 people died in Chattogram district due to COVID-19 and 276 persons were released from the hospital after recovery, the sources added.
With today’s infections, the total numbers of COVID-19 positive cases rose to 4,169 only in Chattogram district till today, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, added.
