DHAKA, Jun 9, 2020 (BSS) – Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over eastern part of the country.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over eastern part of the country and it may rise slightly elsewhere over the country, said a met office release, adding that night temperature may rise slightly across the country.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Sayedpur, Khulna, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.
The met office also said that the southwest monsoon has advanced upto Cox’s Bazar coast. Conditions are favourable for further advancement of southwest monsoon.
Country’s maximum temperature on Monday was recorded at 36.8 degree Celsius at Jashore and the lowest at 24.0 degree Celsius at Dimla under Rangpur division. Highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded at 55 millimeters (mm) at Sandwip.
