COVID-19 cases raise to 3807 in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, June 6, 2020 (BSS) – The number COVID-19 infection cases has risen to 3807 in Chattogram district as 140 more new cases diagnosed after testing 596 samples at three COVID -19 laboratories in last 24 hours.

Chattogram district health officials said among the newly detected 140 corona patients 72 are in Chattogram city and 68 in different upazilas of the district.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS that with today’s one more death, a total of 90 COVID-19 patients died and 252 COVID-19 patients released from the hospital after recovering.

He said the recovery rate of corona patients currently stands at 6.61 percent while fatality rate 2.36 percent in the district.

The overall infection rate of corona patients stands at 74 percent in the port city and 26 percent in the different upazila of the district, he said.

Dr Rabbi told that 40 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 279 samples in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 50 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 155 samples during the same period.

Besides, 50 also new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 155 samples, the civil surgeon said.
