DHAKA, June 05, 2020 (BSS) – Three more accused in a case lodged over sensational heist of Taka 80 lakh from a money carrying vehicle of National Bank in Old Dhaka on May 10, gave confessional statements today.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Elias Miah recorded statements of Hannan alias Robin, 50, Mohammmad Mostafa, 52, and Pervin, 31, under section 164 as police produced them before the court and pleaded to record their statements.
Earlier on June 3, Babul Miah alias Kala Babul, 55, gave a confessional statement in the case.
A court on June 2 placed the four on a three-day remand each. The court had also sent another accused Alamgir to jail.
Police said they arrested the accused on the night of June 1 and recovered Taka 60 lakh of the stolen money and two foreign-made weapons from them.
A bag containing Taka 80 lakh went missing from the bank cash carrying vehicle on May 10 as it was collecting money from different branches of the bank in Old Dhaka.
The bank authorities filed the case with Kotwali Police Station in this regard.
