Myanmar airplane lands safely despite crack in windshield in mid-air

YANGON, June 23, 2018 (BSS/XINHUA) – A Myanmar airplane landed safely
despite a crack was reported in the windshield soon after taking off, Myanmar
News Agency reported Saturday.

With 22 passengers, four crews and two security personnel on board, the
airplane FMI ATR-72, which departed from Nay Pyi Taw to Yangon on Thursday at
8:20 a.m. local time, reported a crack in the windshield 20 minutes after
taking off, the Ministry of Home Affairs was quoted as saying.

The crack was noticed on the right windshield of the plane when it reached
an altitude of 16,000 feet (about 4.8 km) allegedly due to air pressure.

However, the plane landed safely in Yangon at 9:05 a.m. local time, the
report added.
