16 killed, 22 injured in Gaibandha road accident
GAIBANDHA, June 23, 2018 (BSS) – At least 16 persons were killed on the spot and 22
others injured in a road accident at Banshkhali on Dhaka-Rangpur highway in
Palashbari upazila of the district this morning.
Police said the accident occured when a Panchagarh bound passenger bus of Alam Enterprise from
Dhaka fell into a roadside ditch and turned turtle as its driver lost
control over the steering.
The identity of the victims could not be known immediately.
The injured were sent to different hospitals in Rangpur and Bogura.
Deputy Commissioner Gautam Chandra Pal and Superintendent of Police Abdul
Mannan Mian visited the spot.
