Covid-19 positive cases reach 615 with highest 39 more in Khulna division

KHULNA, June 03, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus patients has surged to 615 here with the highest 39 more positive cases reported in a single day after testing samples at the three COVID -19 laboratories in last 24 hours till 12 noon today.

Health officials said the newly detected 39 COVID-19 patients include 23 in Khulna, nine in Kustia, three in Magura, two in Chuadanga, one each in Bagerhat and Satkhira districts under the division.

Besides, Record 23 more Covid-19 positive cases reported in Khulna, the highest number in a single day, after testing 148 samples in KMC in last 24 hour till 12noon today, raising the number of positive cases to 120, said an official of Khulna civil surgeon.

Among the 23 new cases, 12 are in Digholia upazila, one in Koyra upazila and 10 in Khulna city.

Among the total 120 coronavirus infected patients, 37 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of Khulna dedicated corona hospital after release of 33 recovered patients and four deaths while the rest of the patients are remaining in isolation at their respective homes in the district.

“We received 188 samples at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) and other samples in Jashore and Kushtia laboratories in the last 24 hours and 39 of those were found COVID-19 positive,” said Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akther.

She informed that the total number of infected persons rose to 615 after testing their samples at the three regional COVID-19 laboratories till 12 noon today, since April 7.

“Meanwhile, 292 coronavirus patients were recovered so far out of total 615 infected persons with a recovery rate of 47.48 percent in Khulna division,” Dr. Ferdousi said.

Besides, a total of ten fatalities were reported so far with four in Khulna, two in Bagerhat, one each in Chuadanga and Narail and two in Meherpur districts.

Among the total 615 coronavirus infected persons, 116 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals after release of 292 recovered patients and 10 deaths while the rest of the patients are remaining in isolation at their respective homes in the division.
