230 COVID-19 patients recover in Khulna division

KHULNA, May 31, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 230 patients out of 519 have recovered from COVID-19 in last 24 hours till 12 noon today in all 10 districts of Khulna division.

“A total of 230 coronavirus patients recovered so far and the percentage of recovery rate stands at 44.31 in the division,” Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akther told BSS today.

The district-wise numbers of recovered patients stand at 21 in Khulna, six in Bagerhat, one in Satkhira, 67 in Jashore, 24 in Jhenaidah, 18 in Magura, two in Narail, 27 in Kushtia, 59 in Chuadanga and five in Meherpur districts in the division.

She informed 19 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in the division in last 24 hours till 12noon today.

“We received 188 samples at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) and other samples in Jashore and Kushtia laboratories in the last 24 hours and 19 of those were found COVID-19 positive,” Dr. Ferdousi said.

Of the newly affected persons, two in Khulna, five in Satkhira, four in Jashore, one in Kustia and seven in Meherpur districts.

A total of ten fatalities were reported so far with four in Khulna, two in Bagerhat, one each in Chuadanga and Narail and two in Meherpur districts in Khulna division.

Among the total 519 coronavirus infected persons, 100 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals after release of 230 recovered patients and 10 deaths while the rest of the patients are remaining in isolation at their respective homes in the division.

Meanwhile, a Covid-19 patient died today morning at coronavirus treatment unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), Dr Shailandranath Biswas, focal person of corona unit of KMCH confirmed.

The deceased was identified as Tanveer Alam Babu, 31, son of Alauddin, residence of village Bagmara under Rupsha upazila in Khulna.

Babu was admitted to KMCH with coronavirus symptom on May 21. He returned from Dhaka on May 17, said Rupsha upazila UNO Nasrin Akter.
