DHAKA, June 22, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a seminar here today urged the people of Gazipur to vote for boat in the upcoming Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls, saying it is the symbol of development.
They came up with the observations while addressing the seminar on “Thoughts and expectations of citizens” at the Jatiya Press Club here.
Ononya Bangladesh and Bangla Bichitra jointly organized the seminar.
Presided over by former student leader and noted columnist Subhash Singha Roy, the seminar was addressed, among others, by Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Dr Mizanur Rahman, Prof Mesbah Kamal of Dhaka University, journalist and columnist Shahriar Kabir and Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist Manoranjan Ghoshal.
“People of Gazipur are now united for casting their ballots for boat for the sake of development of the area. They want development and know that it will be easier for the candidate of a party, which is in power, to make it happen,” AKM Mozammel Huq said.
Zahid Ahsan Russel on the other hand, said the people of Gazipur are united to boycott the family, which is responsible for the murder Ahsan Ullah Master and thus will elect the candidate of Awami League.
