Several countries express solidarity with Bangladesh on COVID-19 fight

DHAKA, May 29, 2020 (BSS) – Foreign ministers of a number of countries
have expressed solidarity with Bangladesh regarding its ongoing fight against
coronavirus (COVID-19), whiling exchanging Eid greetings with their
Bangladesh counterpart Dr A K Abdul Momen.

The countries are Turkey, Nepal, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates
(UAE), Iran and Bosnia, a foreign ministry press release said here today.

In their respective Eid greeting messages to the Bangladesh foreign
minister, they prayed for the deliverance of all Islamic countries and all
the humans from this coronavirus pandemic.

They also expressed the hope of having stronger relations with Bangladesh.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevl?t ?avusoglu, Nepalese Foreign Minister
Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Palestin Foreign Minister Riyad al Maliki, Iranian
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Bosnian Foreign Minister Dr Bisera
Turkovic sent felicitation messages while UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh
Abdullah Bib Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan greeted Dr Momen over telephone.

In a separate message, Maldivian Foreign Minister Abdullah Shaheed
expressed deep sympathy over the deaths and damages caused by the cyclone
‘Amphan’ in Bangladesh.

He lauded Bangladesh government’s different steps taken for the people of
cyclone hit the coastal areas and said such kind of cyclone in the time of
pandemic has increased the challengers for Dhaka.
