Rangpur ethnic students get education, health assistance under PMO project

RANGPUR, May 28, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 184 students belonging to the
ethnic minority communities today received educational, health and sports
items, bicycles and sub-stipends in the metropolis.

The Sadar Upazila Parishad distributed those among the pre-primary, primary
and secondary level ethnic minority students under the ‘Development Programme
for Special Areas’ of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

Local Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Asib Ahsan distributed the goods and
sub-stipends in a function held at Dharmodas Kuthipara Ethnic Pre-primary
School ground in Ward No-32 of the metropolis as the chief guest.

He distributed educational and health items among 100 students, sub-
stipends among 54 students and bicycles among 30 female students of the
ethnic communities in the function.

With Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Israt Sadia Shumi in the chair,
the function was also attended by women development activist Monjushree Saha,
Headmaster of the school Bhupendra Nath Pahan and representative of the
ethnic minority community Bimal Khalko as special guests.
