Death toll from Tuesday’s boat capsize in Jamuna rises to 10
SIRAJGANJ, May 28, 2020 (BSS) – Police and Fire Service divers recovered
five more bodies from the Jamuna this morning as a boat capsized in the river
in Chowhali upazila here on Tuesday.
With the recovery of five bodies, the death toll from the boat accident
stood at 10, police sources said.
Besides, nine people are still missing in the incident, they added.
On Tuesday, a shallow-engine boat from Enayetpur, carrying at least 74
passengers, sank in the river in Sthalchar area due to strong wind.
Soon after the incident, three people died and police and locals rescued
57 people alive.
Later, on Wednesday, they recovered two more dead bodies from the river.
