100 more infected with COVID-19 in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 27, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 100 more people, including
chief of Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID)
lab, were tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) in the two COVID-19
laboratories in Chattogram district after testing 498 samples in last 24
hours.

Professor Dr Shakil Ahmed, head 0f BITID COVID-19 lab, was found
coronavirus positive last night.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS that 51 new
COVID-19 patients were identified at BITID, Chattogram after testing 331
samples during the same period.

Meanwhile, 46 new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram
after testing 100 samples, the civil surgeon said.

Three more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Medical
College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 67 samples in last 24 hours.

Among the affected people, three tested positive for the second time.

So far, 71 people died in Chattogram district due to COVID-19 and 182
persons were released from the hospital, the sources added.

With this, the total numbers of COVID-19 patients rose to 1986 only in
Chattogram district till today.
