KUSHTIA, May 24, 2020 (BSS) – Reacting on BNP leader’s comments on
government inaction on relief misappropriation, Awami League Joint General
Secretary MahbubUl Alam Hanif today said such slanderous comments by a
politician on relief distribution is totally a ‘heinous mentality’, nothing
else.
“BNP politician’s such derogatory comment on relief operation revealed
their character….it is meant that they embezzled relief in the past,” he
said while talking to journalists after visiting the eco-parklocated beside
the Garai River here this afternoon.
Over the COVID-19 situation, the ruling party leader said Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina is strictly monitoring the relief operation programme so that
all the jobless people irrespective of their political affiliation could get
the government aid.
Regarding the countrywide relief operation amid the corona virus
situation, BNP leader Fakhrul Islam Alamgir commented that the local
government representatives are involved in relief embezzlement, but the
government is not taking any action against them.
