Imams, Muazzins, Khadems of 2,793 Khulna mosques get PM’s Eid gift
KHULNA, May 24, 2020 (BSS)-Imams, Muazzins and Khadems of 2,793 mosques in city and all nine upazilas of the district received Taka 5,000 each as gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the eve of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity.
The Prime Minister allocated Taka 1, 41, 45,000 for giving money to the Imams, Muazzins and Khadems of the mosques as gift to mitigate their hardship in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Md. Helal Hossain distributed the money in cash in an informal function arranged by Islamic Foundation, Khulna division in collaboration with Khulna district administration maintaining physical distance at the circuit house conference room in the city yesterday afternoon.
Director of Islamic Foundation, Khulna Division Shahin Bin Zaman and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
Later, a munajat was offered seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and divine blessings for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
