Light to moderate rain likely across the country

DHAKA, May 21, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am today.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over  Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions;  at many places over Dhaka and  Chattogram divisions and at a few places over  Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Day temperature may fall by 1-2°C and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin said.

The highest temperature on yesterday was recorded 33.2 degrees Celsius in Chattogram of Chattogram district and while today’s minimum temperature was 20.0 degree Celsius in Badalgachhi of Rajshahi.

Maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 203 millimeters (mm) at Chuadanga in Khulna division.

The sun sets at 6:37pm today and rises at 5:13 am tomorrow in the capital.
