Cyclone Amphan turns into a land deep depression

DHAKA, May 21, 2020 (BSS) – The cyclone Amphan over Jenaidah district and adjoining areas moved northwards and now lies over Rajshahi-Pabna region and adjoining area at 9 this morning as a land deep depression.

It is likely to move in a north-northeasterly direction further and weaken gradually by giving precipitation, said a met office release issued here this morning.

Maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been advised to lower great danger signal number ten but instead hoist local cautionary signal number three.

Maritime ports of Chattogram and Cox’s Bazar also have been advised to lower great danger signal number nine but instead hoist local cautionary signal number three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
