FICCI provides 11,000 PPEs to DGHS for healthcare professionals
DHAKA, May 20, 2020 (BSS) – Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce
and Industry (FICCI) provided 11,000 units of high-quality Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) suits to Directorate General of Health
Services (DGHS) to help the nation in its fight against COVID-19.
Among these PPEs, 1,000 units are medical grades while remaining
10,000 units for frontline fighters at the hospitals who are extending
medical services to coronavirus patients, said a press release today.
On behalf of the FICCI members, President Rupali Haque Chowdhury
handed over the PPEs to Acting Director General Professor Dr Nasima
Sultana.
FICCI executive committee member Shwapna Bhowmick and Executive
Director T I M Nurul Kabir were also present.
Rupali Chowdhury said, “We believe it’s our responsibility to
contribute and stand beside the government and healthcare professional
to fight this challenging pandemic situation.”
She also expressed her gratitude to the relevant stakeholders
including, DGHS, Drug administration and the Custom Bond house of NBR
for facilitating the process.
FICCI President also extended special thanks to the Youngones
Bangladesh for locally manufactured these high-quality PPEs under the
guidance of the Drug Administration for manufactured and delivered in
a seamless way.
Ever since the outbreak, Members of FICCI are supporting the
government, communities, and development agencies at various levels to
overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
