Rangpur DCIH discharges 11 more COVID-19 patients

RANGPUR, May 19, 2020 (BSS) – Eleven more recovered coronavirus (COVID-19)
patients were discharged from the Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital (DCIH)
in Rangpur bidding them a pleasurable farewell today.

“They were tested for coronavirus negative in two consecutive real-time
PCR tests,” Superintendent of the DCIH Dr. SM Nurun Nabi told BSS this
afternoon, adding a total of 34 coronavirus patients are undergoing
treatments at the centre.

The total number of released patients from the DCIH, an extension of
Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH), rose to 47 today among a total of
81 admitted patients to the facility since the beginning of its journey from
April 19 last.

The discharged 11 patients are: Commandant of Range Reserve Force of
Bangladesh Police (Superintendent of Police) Mehedul Karim, 48, his wife
Begum Hawa Bibi, 37, Sumi Begum, 29, Hasina Begum, 30, Md. Shariful, 25,
Nosiron, 80, Rafiqul Islam, 35, Ruhul Amin, 35, Jahurul Islam, 23, Md. Ruhul
Amin, 24, and Al Mamun, 28.

The 11 discharged patients were admitted to the DCIH between May 9 and May
14 after they were diagnosed COVID-19 positive.
