Govt of Sheikh Hasina stands by people during crisis: Khasru
NETRAKONA, May 19, 2020 (BSS)- State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf
Ali Khan Khasru today said the present government continues its efforts for
providing financial and food assistance to the distressed and jobless people
across the country to help them overcome the coronavirus (Covid-19)
situation.
“The government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina always stands beside
the common people during their crisis. Now the government is continuing its
best and sincere efforts for providing financial and food assistance to the
needy and jobless people so that none remains without food, clothe or
medicine amid the Covid-19 situation” he said while distributing bank cheques
among the patients of different diseases, including cancer patients, at
Netrakona Press Club here today.
Khasru handed over cheques for a total amount of Taka 98 lakh to 196
poverty-stricken people, who were suffering from different diseases,
including cancer, livercerosis and heart ailments, of the district. Each of
the patients got cheque for Taka 50,000 for their treatment.
Deputy director of district Social Services Department Mohammad Alaluddin,
prominent social worker Kamrunnesa Ashraf Dina, Social Services Officer of
Netrakona sader Abdullah Al-Mamun and general secretary of Netrakona Press
Club Shamolendu Paul, civil society members and journalists were present
there.
