RAKUB to disburse Tk 1,200cr incentive package loan
RAJSHAHI, May 19, 2020 (BSS) – Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has set
a target to disburse agricultural loan worth Taka 1,200 crore under an
incentive package loan programme in the country’s northwest zone.
The loans will be disbursed among the targeted populations through the
bank’s 383 branches in all 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions
within June 2021 next.
The specialized commercialized bank will disburse the loan as part of the
incentive package announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently to recoup
the losses being caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As the largest development partner in agriculture as well as agro-based
industry sector of the northwest Bangladesh, currently, the bank has adopted
the effective work plan which is being implemented at the grassroots level to
cope with the troubled situation after the best uses of the special incentive
package loan program.
Meanwhile, the bank authority has disbursed loan worth Taka 41.06 lakh
under the special incentive package loan program among ten enlisted farmers at
its LPO branch premises in Rajshahi city yesterday through maintaining social
distancing and other protective measures amid the covid-19 pandemic.
RAKUB Managing Director AKM Sajedur Rahman Khan, Deputy Managing Director
Muhammad Idrish, General Managers Towhida Khatun, Ruhul Amin and Azizul Islam
Sarker and Head of Loan and Advanced Division Shawkat Shahidul Islam and Zonal
Manager Hasanul Islam were present at the loan distribution programme.
