AL’s live discussion’s 2nd episode on beyond pandemic today

DHAKA, May 19, 2020 (BSS)-Bangladesh Awami League (AL) has taken up an initiative to organize a live discussion on its official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/awamileague.1949).

The live discussion titled “Beyond The Pandemic’ focuses on how Bangladesh is tackling the challenges of COVID-19 and how the country is preparing for the future.

The first episode of discussion was aired live on May 15 and the topic was ‘Public Awareness to Battle COVID-19’. Viewers asked their questions and gave suggestions to the guests during the live session.

The second episode of the program will be aired at 10 pm today on Awami League’s official Facebook page. The topic of this episode is ‘Humanitarian Aid during COVID-19 Crisis’. The main speakers of this episode are Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Barrister Biplab Barua and voluntary organization Bidyananda Foundation’s representative Shipra Das.

The guests of the first episode were Information Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP, Additional Commissioner and Head of Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit Monirul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Education and Counselling Psychology from the University of Dhaka Professor Mehtab Khanom, Mental Health Expert, Director (Disease Control) and Line Director CDC, DGHS Professor Dr Shahnila Ferdousi, Journalist of Ekattor TV Farzana Rupa, Managing Partner and Creative Chief of Grey International Syed Gausul Alam Shaon, actor Riaz Ahmed. More than 10 representatives of students and journalists’ community joined the live discussion.

During the discussion, Dr. Hasan Mahmud said, “On Bangladesh Television we’ve created and propagated various awareness videos and organize corona awareness programs with different representations from doctors’ community which are still going on. We have also aired awareness programs equally on Bangladesh Betar.”

About promoting various initiatives in Digital Media, State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s idea of building Digital Bangladesh helps 160 million people of the country get access to health care, daily food aid and conduct mobile banking easily in such struggling time of this pandemic.

The discussion is being hosted by PM’s Special Assistant Barrister Shah Ali Farhad.
