DHAKA, May 18, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed
deep shock and sorrow at the death of Advocate Zahirul Islam, a close
associate of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and
former member of Gana Parishad (Constituent Assembly of Bangladesh).
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of
the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Advocate Islam, an ex-general secretary of Cox’s Bazar district Awami
League and former president of Cox’s Bazar District Bar Association, died of
old-age complications at his Chattogram city residence this noon at the age
of 80.
