Libya strongman orders operation to clear oil ports of militia
BENGHAZI, Libya, June 21, 2018 (BSS/AFP) – Military strongman Khalifa
Haftar, whose forces dominate eastern Libya, announced a new offensive on
Thursday to clear rival militia from the region’s key oil export ports.
“Zero hour has passed” to “crush the enemy”, Haftar said in audio-taped
orders to his self-styled Libyan National Army, after a week of clashes with
the rival Petroleum Facilities Guard sparked major output losses.
