Markets, shopping malls closed in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, May 16, 2020 (BSS) — All the markets and shopping malls will
remain closed in and around the Netrakona district town from today until
further order of the district administration to check the spread of
coronavirus (COVID-19).

The decision for keeping the markets and shopping malls closed was taken
here after holding an ’emergency joint meeting’ of administrative officials,
public representatives and leaders of district chamber of commerce and
industries and health department officials at the conference room of
Netrakona DC office, deputy commissioner (DC) Main-Ul-Islam told BSS.

State minister for social welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru attended the
meeting and urged all to follow strictly the health guidelines, including
maintaining social distancing, to prevent transmission of coronavirus.

“We jointly took the decision in the greater interest of the public in
general” the DC added.
