68 more test positive for Covid-19 in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, May 16, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 68 more people were tested
positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) in the three Covid-19 laboratories only
in Chattogram district in last 24 hours.

Of them, 17 infected patients were found at the Covid-19 BITID Laboratory
at Fuzdarhat, 47 detected at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and
four in Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) today.

Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS that a total of 25 new Covid-
19 people were detected after testing 255 samples at BITID in last 24 hours.

A total of 47 more people were tested positive at CMCH after testing 128
samples, he added.

Meanwhile, 13 new Covid-19 patients including four in Chattogram district
were detected at CVASU lab after testing 100 samples in last 24 hours, Dr
Rabbi said.

After the first Covid-19 patient was identified in Dampara on April 3, the
number of confirmed cases in Chattogram has risen to 640 only in Chattogram
district in the last 44 days, he added.
