DHAKA, May 14, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum
Monnujan Sufian today said the workers in the apparel sector cannot leave
their workplace during the three-day Eid holidays.
She urged the garment owners to pay 100 percent Eid bonus of their workers.
The state minister made the call at the tripartite meeting of the
government, owners and workers at the Sromo Bhaban in the city, said a press
release.
At the meeting, it was unanimously decided by the owners and labor leaders
to give three days of Eid holidays on May 23, 24 and 25.
The meeting also decided that no worker can leave the workplace during the
Eid holidays and the employers will pay the salaries for May within the first
seven working days of June.
