Lower courts allow bail to 1,821 through virtual hearing
DHAKA, May 14, 2020 (BSS) – Lower courts across the country today granted
bail to 1,821 accused in different cases after holding hearings virtually.
Confirming the matter to BSS, Supreme Court spokesperson Md Saifur Rahman
said the apex court on May 10 directed the lower courts concerned to hold
hearing only on bail matters virtually in line with the special practice
direction issued by the Supreme Court during the ongoing general holiday.
The Supreme Court earlier issued 21 special practice directions of lower
courts to hold trial virtually. The apex court also issued virtual courtroom
usage manual to the lawyers.
