DHAKA, May 14, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of noted journalist, poet and a cultural activist Fakhre Alam.
In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled contributions of Alam to the fields of journalism, literature and culture.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Alam, a special correspondent of Daily Kaler Kantha, breathed his last at Jashore General Hospital around 9:30 am today at the age of 59.
He had been suffering from cancer for a long time, family sources said.
