Seven traders fined Tk 18,000 in Domar

RANGPUR, May 14, 2020 (BSS) – Seven traders were fined Taka 18,000 for not
hanging price lists and selling expired date goods at Domar Bazar in Domar
upazila town of Nilphamari district today.

A joint team of the Department of National Consumer Rights Protection and
Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-2 of Nilphamari camp of Rapid Action Battalion
(RAB)-13 in sudden drives fined the traders.

Divisional Deputy Director of the Department of National Consumer Rights
Protection for Rangpur Md. Jahangir Alam with its Assistant Director Md.
Borhan Uddin for Nilphamari with other officials concerned conducted the
drives.

The team fined owners of ‘Amin Store’ Taka 2,000, ‘Islam Store’ Taka 5,000
and ‘Shamim Store’ Taka 8,000, ‘Munna Store’ Taka 1,000, ‘NK Store’ Taka 500,
‘Khadem Store’ Taka 1,000 and ‘Ashraful Store” Taka 500 for under sections
38/49/51 of the Consumers’ Right Protection Act, 2009.

Jahangir Alam said such raids will continue in different bazaars and
markets as a part of the regular market surveillance drives for strict
enforcement of the Consumers’ Right Protection Act, 2009.
