Journalist Fakhre Alam passes away

JASHORE, May 14, 2020 (BSS) – Noted Journalist Fakhre Alam passed away at
the age of 59 this morning.

According to Alam’s family sources, he felt seriously ill at his residence
in the Chanchra Dalmil area in the town in the morning.

He was, later, taken to Jashore General Hospital where the duty doctor
declared him dead around 9:30 am. He had been suffering from cancer for a
long.

Alam, a special correspondent of Bangla national daily Kaler Kantho, left
behind his mother, wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and
admirers to mourn his death.

Born on June 20, 1961, Alam started his career as a journalist by joining a
weekly magazine Saptahik Robbar in 1985.

Later, he worked in Ajker Kagoj, Manabjamin, Amader Somoy, Bhorer Kagoj,
Daily Jaijaidin and Banglabazar Patrika.

Alam, who was also dubbed as poet, wrote about 34 books on different topics
in his lifetime. He was conferred a number of awards, including TIB and FPEB
awards.

Members and officials of Jashore Press Club expressed profound shock and
sorrow at the death of its senior member Fakhre Alam.

In a condolence message, Jashore Press Club President Zahid Hasan Tukun and
General Secretary Ahsan Kabir prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul
and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
