Auction for Mushfiqur’s bat suspended temporarily due to fake bidding

DHAKA, May 12, 2020 (BSS)-The organizers today forced to postpone the
auction of Mushfiqur Rahim’s bat temporarily due to countless fake bidding.
The bidding for the bat, Mushfiqur used to score country’s maiden double
century in a Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, was suspended for some hours
before it started again at 8PM on Tuesday.

With an aim to raise the fund for Covid-19 affected people in Bangladesh,
Mushfiqur placed the bat for auction through his management company, Nibco
who struck a deal with Pickaboo.com, an e-commerce site.

With the price exceeding Tk 41 lakh for the bat after 53 bids, officials
said, they got some dubious bidding which forced them to call of it for
temporarily.

Pickaboo chief executive Morin Talukder told the reports that they are
filtering the bids to find the genuinely interested parties.

The floor price of Mushfiqur Rahim’s bat was Tk. 6 lac.

The bidding for the bat was scheduled to end on May 14.
