7 Naval ships provides food among coastal fishermen families

DHAKA, May 12, 2020 (BSS) – Seven Naval ships have provided food
assistance among the poor and helpless fishermen families who are affected
due to the impact of coronavirus in the coastal districts.

The Naval personnel of these ships provided food materials like rice,
pulse, edible oil, potatoes, to these hapless fishermen families side by side
provided them with antiseptic soaps, masks and various directives on mass
awareness, said an ISPR press release today.

Naval ship Somudra -Obhijan has continued their relentless operations at
the Saint Martin’s while BNS Shahjalal at Cox’s Bazar and BNS Sagar and
Durjoy at Bhasanchar. Besides, BNS Nissan at Harbaria and BNS Karnaphuli and
Kapotakhya have continued their operations at Barishal.

These ships are continuing patrolling in the deep sea and coastal areas
side by side with cautioning the sea going trawlers and boats about the
ongoing crisis.

Besides, the members of the Navy are also providing food assistance after
visiting the houses of poor and fishermen families at Teknaf, Sandwip and
Hatia.
