Shahriar provides eggs to 5,000 families in Rajshahi

RASHAHI, May 12, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has provided eggs among 5,000 villagers in his constituency in Bagha Upazila of the district aimed at meeting up the demand of balanced and nutritious food amid the existing Covid-19 pandemic.

After collecting those from local poultry farms, each of the households was given ten eggs with his personal initiative side by side with other government relief items today.

In the first phase, 1.5 lakh eggs will be distributed among 16,000 jobless and other hand-to-mouth families to cope with the present troubled situation with his personal initiative, said Shahin Reja, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Bagha.

Earlier on, he distributed various seasonal vegetables like potato, pumpkin, bottle gourd, spinach and bitter gourd among 12,000 families after collecting from local markets at fair price.

Currently, food items are also being distributed among the poor through local representatives and leaders.

He took the program to meet the demand of the poor and helpless for vegetables along with rice. He also took the initiative to ensure the fair price of the products produced by the local farmers, Shahin Reja added.

Earlier, the state minister provided 50,000 masks and hand sanitizer to the people of Bagha-Charghat, which is his own constituency, and the adjacent upazilas.

Besides, he had distributed the government relief and vegetables among the residents of Charghat and Bagha over the last couple of weeks. He had also given PPE to the administrative officials and local public representatives.
