Mild heat wave hit some parts of the country

DHAKA, May 11, 2020 (BSS) – Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions as well as the regions of Kishoregonj, Sandwip, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Feni, Hatiya, Rajshahi and Pabna and it May continue, said a met office release here today.

In a weather forecast message, the met office also said rain or thundershowers with lighting flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and the region of Cumilla.

Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said.

Country’s maximum temperature was recorded 37.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore on Sunday while the lowest one today 20.5 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga.

The highest rainfall for the last 24-hours till 6 am today was recorded 42 millimetres (mm) at Sayedpur.

The sunsets at 6.32 pm today and rises at 5.17am tomorrow in the capital.
