DNCC conducts mobile courts to destroy mosquito breeding grounds

DHAKA, May 10, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today conducted eight mobile courts in its areas to find out and destroy mosquito breeding grounds.

Involving executive magistrates and DNCC officials, the mobile courts were conducted in its eight areas (regions), a DNCC press release said.

During the mobile court drives, several house owners were fined and notices were served upon them as Aedes breeding grounds were found on their house premises or inside their houses.

The mobile courts also made the city dwellers aware of mosquito menace.

Earlier, the DNCC issued a circular saying that it would conduct mobile courts in city establishments from May 10 to destroy mosquito breeding grounds.

If accumulated water where mosquito may breed is found in any establishment, its owner would be fined, the circular said, affirming it has been continuing different activities to control mosquito-borne diseases.

The circular also mentioned that due to the recent rainfall water may accumulate on rooftops, vases inside tyres, abandoned and under construction buildings and the owners were requested to clear up the water to prevent mosquito breeding.
